Showcasing impactful stories through cinematic visuals

Pole and Line fishermen

In 2025, Fishstory partnered with FishTales (Netherlands) and AP2HI NGO for an extensive documentary expedition to Pemana Island, Maumere. This project highlights the artisanal Pole and Line and Handline tuna fishers, showcasing the world-standard of sustainable fisheries. Filmed in a remote, off grid environment

Katsuo Marendeng (about fishermen wife)

In 2026, Fishstory collaborated with FishTales & AP2HI NGO to document a transformative Fair Trade initiative in Bitung, North Sulawesi. This project highlights the economic empowerment of fishers' wives, who have established sustainable snack businesses as part of a value-added fishery program. Utilizing the Blackmagic 6K Pro 12 bit colour to capture intimate, authentic storytelling, we documented how Fair Trade premiums are directly reinvested into community-led entrepreneurship. This documentary serves as a powerful testament to social equity in the seafood industry, bridging the gap between Indonesian coastal communities and global ethical consumers.
